 Christel Gutelius

Christel is primarily a landscape painter whose main mediums are oils and acrylics.  She resides in Mecca, Indiana with her husband Tom, hound dog Leo, Kitty Mamma, a loveable stray who adopted them, and an assortment of lively chickens and ducks. Christel retired from over 30 years in the medical field, and now pursues her passion for painting the landscape of Indiana.

"I love the interplay of light and form, and the journey of constantly learning about the painting process itself.  I paint what attracts me, and if it resonates with someone else, too, then that's a pleasure." Christel has received many awards for her work, recently Best of Show in '22 and '23 in the WVAG Terre Haute exhibitions. Memberships include American Impressionists Society and National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society.
